1 baguette 2/3 days old
5 eggs
250ml of milk at room temperature or slightly warm
sugar
a cap of rum or vanilla
butter (for cooking)
cut the bread into slices not too thick between 1 cm and 2 cm maximum
mix the eggs and the milk together add 3 level tablespoons of sugar and the rum or vanilla then mix well I add a pinch of salt but it is not mandatory
mixing the milk and the eggs, the bread will take a little longer to soak
I arrange them all in a bowl and I let them soak quietly by turning them over from time to time
cook in a pan with butter and brown them well on each side
reserve on a dish and sweeten them to your taste
